Wake up. Don’t you see the score here? It’s not just me that’s unhappy and dysfunctional, it’s all of western capitalism, the Duff-Hell-Opt world, shopping and selling and socially climbing, swarming over each other like rats, competing not co-operating, everyone looking for some materialist Shangri-la of consumer happiness, when all the time happiness lies somewhere else entirely…

You are what you eat and drink and breathe, so what are we now, most of us? Carbon Monoxide, Lead, Fluoride, Monosodium Glutamate. Metal and ash and oil.

experiments at 3 billion a.m. by alexander zelenyj – new edition

Through dreamscape wonderment, fetishism, guilt, loss and love, these twenty-one stories map both physical and internal environments. Hook’s familiar themes of identity, memory, and the nature of reality thread multiple genres to form a dense cartographic exploration of the human condition.

an opinion

It’s the little things that make this book literally “scream” at you: the bizarre, the despair, the obsessive – the love, the pain.

What I like most about the 21 stories of ‘Human Maps’ is that they don’t offer (m)any answers or conclusions; quite haunting.

A curse for the mind – oh, yeah!

P.S. and this opinion does not say too much either: I’m dysfunctionally cold…

Andrew hook é um cartógrafo da mente, das emoções, dos medos, dos desejos, das loucuras, dos sonhos…

He wanted do show her how the wind does no listen or, if it does, it doesn’t care for one word of human babble.

When I was ten, my Daddy killed me.
The Oz Suite by Gerard Houarner

The thing about heads is that they never shut up. Separated from their bodies, it’s as if their minds and tongues have been liberated. Without bodies, brains feel no shame in endless banter, in expressing every little random thought. It’s really quite rude.
The Oz Suite by Gerard Houarner

eibonvale press

Eibonvale Press is a small press run by a writer, artist and reader who loves books – It’s as simple as that. It is not intended to be particularly commercial or make large sums of money for me or anyone concerned (though it would be nice if it did, of course!), but it aims to produce beautiful and lovingly-designed editions of excellent writing in modern horror, magic realism and the surreal.

Até há data todos os livros publicados pela Eibonvale Press, e lidos, não me têm desiludido.

Every man was just a child in the world, demanding and reprimanding, demonstrating and remonstrating. Empty rhetoric.
