Flash in the pantheon é uma leitura super divertida, com histórias malucas, esquisitas, surrealistas, sem nexo, anexadas, de alguém que se diverte com as palavras como ninguém.

Este ano não foi um grande ano de leituras. Na minha teimosia li livros que sabia à partida não serem a minha onda – mas o que tem de ser tem muita força.
De qualquer forma destaco de uma pouca extensa lista alguns; a ordem é sem ordem:

O escritor português de eleição continua a ser David Soares – adoro as suas palavras e a sua imaginação saudavelmente doentia. Andar a ler pelas orelhas foi a grande boa novidade do ano. Recomendo Os Anormais: Necropsia De Um Cosmos Olisiponense e o seu Compêndio. David Soares é um escritor abelha que nunca pára na mesma flor e nos oferece obras em registos diferentes.
Apesar de ter descoberto novos autores estrangeiros Rhys Hughes é o que me dá mais gozo ler. Os seus escritos continuam surreais, paranóicos, delirantes, absurdos, cómicos – e isso é positivamente bom.
2013 vai ser um ano mais melhor bom; tenho programado para ler (uns comprados, outros ainda não):
Mais histórias, mais diversão, mais momentos bem passados, mais Rhys Hughes.

I have seen a preparation for war by Rhys Hughes. I have considered myself threatened and went to fight for whatever. I was more than ready with a 98.5% plastic bowl on my head, shield pan in aluminum ISO2000, oak spear 100% natural. To this I added a bit of madness, with a spot of daring.
The result is: books bleeding, gods weeping, and the writer lying on the floor writing the last chapter – I still want to read a story.

I just read The Sticky Situations of Zwicky Fingers by Rhys Hughes and I do not even know what to say.
Rhys Hughes continues to amaze me with his ability to tell stories that are always new, delirious, absurd, fantastic, sick, beautiful: use the word you want to define.
One thing is guaranteed: each story is a magical moment.
What goes on inside Rhys Hughes brains for such creativity, I wonder? Or rather, I do not even want to know. What I want is more stories.
