Murderland shakes your head. Blows your senses. You won’t be indifferent. And that alone is already grade 10. This is what I want from a book, one that puts my testicles in ice and delivers me electric shocks! Okay, I may be exaggerating, but I can not do a normal review from an unusual book; and “unusual” here is a really good thing.
“Wake Paulo Brito ” and bam, a slap directly from the pages given by Jeremy , and why? I was reading Murderland.
Imagine that you are blindfolded, and it is offered to you, at the style from 9 1/2 weeks, different flavors in words. Can you imagine? Can you hold that picture in your head? Murderland is simply orgasmic reading, that can offer you at the turning of a page something sweet, or bitter, or spicy, or ( … ) that’s right – there’s a time you do not know how to define what is being served. Stupendous, right?
It is a very well written book. The words come at a perfect pace and are so melodious. Yes, there aren’t any doubts that words have sounds and Garrett Cook is an excellent maestro. Sometimes I get the idea of not knowing what the writer wants to convey. I see chaos and then, a few lines ahead that chaos appears so orderly, so perfect – scary!
Garrett Cook cooked a book 10/10, with well-developed characters, with a story full of stories, with twists and turns and the ending of the book is so brutal; I thought I was attending a fireworks festival – sublime.
I just wanted to write a good review, one that does justice to the book. I’m afraid I could not. I am the one to blame. Garrett Cook had nothing to do with this fault of mine.
Murderland mexe-te com a cabeça. Arrebenta-te os sentidos. Não te deixa indiferente. E só isto já é nota 10. É isto o que eu quero de um livro, que me coloque os testículos no gelo e me dê choques eléctricos! Okay, posso estar a exagerar, mas não posso fazer uma critica normal a livro fora do comum; e aqui fora do comum é coisa bué de positiva.
“Acorda Paulo Brito” e pumba uma bofetada directamente das páginas dada por Jeremy, e porquê? Estive a ler Murderland.
Imaginem que estão vendados e que lhe oferecem ao estilo 9 semanas 1/2 sabores diferentes em forma de palavras. Já imaginaram? Têm essa imagem mental bem presente? Murderland é simplesmente uma leitura orgástica, que ao virar de cada página te pode oferecer algo doce, ou amargo, ou picante, ou (…) isso mesmo – chega a uma altura que não sabes como definir o que te está a ser servido. Fantástico, certo?
É um livro muito bem escrito. As palavras saem a um ritmo perfeito e são tão melodiosas. Sim, que fique claro as palavras têm sons e Garrett Cook é um maestro excelente. Por vezes tenho a ideia de não saber o que o escritor quer transmitir, é o caos e depois, umas linhas à frente aquele caos aparece tão ordenado, tão perfeito – assustador!
Garrett Cook cozinhou um livro 10/10, com personagens bem desenvolvidas, com uma história cheia de histórias, com voltas e reviravoltas e o fim do livro é tão brutal; parece que estava a assistir a um festival de fogo de artificio – sublime.
Só gostava de fazer uma boa critica que faça justiça ao livro. Temo que não consegui. A culpa é só minha. Garrett Cook não teve nada a ver com esta minha falha.
